If any of the following symptoms occur, either alone or with other symptoms, consider contacting your doctor:

  • Fever

  • Listlessness

  • Pale skin

  • Dull or sunken eyes

  • Dry tongue

  • Skin that "tents" (when it is pinched, it remains in the "tent" shape for several seconds)

  • Diminished level of consciousness

  • Prolonged periods of vomiting

  • Prolonged periods of diarrhea

This is the last page in the "First Aide" series, but it is not the last page in this site.  There is an additional "series" in this site.  ("Basic Life Support")  You can link to either by using the provided hyperlink or by returning to the "Home Page"  and linking from that location.

We have just recently initiated a massive update project to the Basic Life Support series and, although some of the information may be beyond the comprehension of the first aide provider, you may find concepts, explanations, illustrations, or definitions that will help add to your understanding of how to properly "treat" a patient.

Note from Mr. Corby:

Recently, the cost of maintaining these pages has started to "bite" into my budget.  I'm not complaining, mind you, the amount of self-satisfaction that I get from your comments about the usefulness of this site, is well worth the expense.  One way or another, I will continue to maintain and update these pages for as long as I draw breath.  If any of you would like to help by making a small non tax deductible donation (God Bless You,) mail your support to:  Emergency Medical Ed, 2053 NW 79 Ave  #26211, Miami, FL. 33122.  Thank you for your help in keeping this site going.
